Showcase → ComSonante

The ComSonante choir website was created with the purpose of promoting community singing.
ComSonante sings choirworks a capella and has a valuable repertoire (Portuguese, classical, Renaissance and contemporary choirworks) which this website presents in a user friendly database.
The project also intends to share and spread the word about ComSonante activities.

The website has a database with downloadable resources (PDF, SIB, MID and TXT files). We chose Drupal since these contents had to be easily managed and presented with high User Interface Design standards.
Another issue is Drupal excellent community support and environment.

Why these modules/theme/distribution were chosen:

After creating the content type, "repertoire", some of the fields were created with Filefield, in order to attach the choral MIDI, PDF, TXT and SIB files.
Another key module is Taxonomy CSV import/export that permited to import data to the same content type database.
Along with CCK, Views, Node Reference URL, and Views Attach, the Node Reference URL Widget was essential to the repertoire views.
The Location module allowed real-world geographic locations. Google Maps tools allowed addresses and coordinates (points) to be added to nodes through CCK fields. These were associated with ComSonante performance node type views.
