School websites often struggle to meet the differing requirements of staff, parents, teachers and pupils. This new site for St Peter’s primary school introduces the school and provides dedicated zones that ensure it is a valuable communication and administrative resource, as well as a promotional tool for the organisation.
The school needed an easy to use, engaging website that would satisfy the needs of all its users: teachers, governors, parents and pupils.
Teachers required a secure portal allowing them to access private teacher documents, plus an easy to use content management system to create and update class information, homework assignments, learning resources, news articles, events, and class blog posts.
Governors wanted a secure portal to access private documents. These are all categorised and listed in alphabetical order for ease of retrieval.
Parents required an easy to navigate website providing easy access to the school, staff, news, events and class information. New parents can submit admission enquiries via the online application form, and parents sign up to a weekly e-newsletter, and can access an archive of previous issues.
For pupils, the need was for an engaging website that would provide them with class information, homework assignments, and learning resources.
The responsive design ensures the best possible experience regardless of the device the website is accessed from (whether desktop, tablet or mobile). The use of the
latest CSS3 techniques and SVG images and Website Express’ hosted Content Delivery Network result in lightning fast load times.
