2006/12/25 Issues with top sites again.

Over last couple of weeks the great abusers (Turkish spammers a.k.a sohbet) are not only submitting spam links (and waste 80% of traffic - up to 1 million hits a day) but they learned how to hijack user accounts as well. Which is not cool at all.

I'm turning the top sites offline till first week of a new year as I'm concerned about site integrity and most of all member's privacy.

Please follow the news in this blog. And I hope Drupal Top Sites will be shining again soon allowing to showcase our lovely Drupal at it's best.

2006/11/28 One year online!!!

It's been one year since drupalsites.net first appeared on the net. There are almost 700 sites listed since then and almost 800 users are registered. It's actually much more then expected (and almost a half of drupal.org's showcase forums for the 5 years !!!).

To celebrate this event drupalsites.net has a new theme from today (kinda more web 2.0ish). More features to come. Please leave a comment on what would you like to see there in the future.

Note: there are some reported issues for IE 5 on Windows for a new theme... sorry for that, I'll fix it next day (or two). But use firefox! :). And sorry I'm almost breathless to fix some things today.

2006/10/31 Top Dripal Sites one year on the air.

Top Drupal Sites is one year old today. It was the first of drupalsites.net projects. But it is quite buggy and unstable nowadays unfortunately mostly because of spam hits (about 1.5 million a day). This amount of spam hits (and any bad activities) is not handled well by current software.

There is an idea of moving Top Sites to Drupal which could give better handling of everything. So any suggestions are welcome. Should be there a client side module for example ... so on.
